Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Sabrina Lemire-Rodger is a neuropsychologist and clinical psychologist with extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of neurological and psychological conditions. Her expertise encompasses working with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, concussion, brain injury, functional and somatic disorders, ADHD, age-related memory changes, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, caregiver burden, and other conditions. Her background includes comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, individual and group- based psychotherapy, cognitive intervention, and cognitive training for individuals experiencing memory, focus, and organizational issues. Dr. Lemire-Rodger is proficient in various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Humanistic Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Her approach is client-centred, empathic, and firmly rooted in evidence-based practices. She is committed to utilizing scientific knowledge to help clients achieve their full potential in daily life.
In addition to her role as the director of BrainSpace Clinic, Dr. Lemire-Rodger is the neuropsychologist in the Azrieli Brain Medicine Clinic, part of the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She collaborates with a team of neurologists, psychiatrists, and physiatrists to assess and treat complex brain disorders through an interdisciplinary lens. Previously, Dr. Lemire-Rodger served as the staff psychologist in Sunnybrook's Tory Trauma Recovery Clinic, integrating neuropsychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, and psychotherapy to aid trauma survivors. Through her work at Sunnybrook, she is helping research and develop integrative approaches for treating mild traumatic brain injuries and functional neurological disorders. In addition to her private practice work, she is a lecturer at York University in the clinical psychology graduate program, and an executive member-at-large of the Canadian Psychological Association’s section on Clinical Neuropsychology.
Dr. Lemire-Rodger is a graduate of York University’s Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology. She completed her predoctoral residency in the Neuropsychology and Cognitive Health program at Baycrest Health Sciences and the Neuropsychology Clinic at the Krembil Neuroscience Center at UHN’s Toronto Western Hospital. Her research has focused on attention, reasoning, memory, executive functioning, and cognitive control, with her doctoral dissertation examining brain regulation of attention and task-shifting abilities. She is a recipient of prestigious awards, including the Frederick Banting and Charles Best Doctoral Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology. Prior to pursuing clinical psychology, Dr. Lemire-Rodger studied thinking abilities in animals, including monkeys and dolphins.
Dr. Lemire-Rodger is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and works with adults of all ages (18-90+).
